What I Do: Threads is a highly regarded learning resource for sewing and fiber arts enthusiasts, published since 1985. My role is to look at the big picture and grow our audience while delivering high-quality content that stays true to our brand and evolves with our audience’s needs. I work with marketing to convey the value and consistent quality of the Threads brand, and with advertising on special products and promotions with our partners. I lead the Threads editorial team, planning and creating content for our digital membership, magazine, podcast, project guides, video series, and other projects.
Interesting Fact About Me: Shortly before I began working at The Taunton Press, I had the opportunity to represent an area Rotary Club in an international exchange program. I spent a month in the state of Rio Grande du Sul, Brazil, visiting more than 20 cities on a whirlwind tour with a small group of Americans. We had professions from journalism to law enforcement and met with our Brazilian counterparts. It was an unforgettable experience that gave me access to an energetic, generous, and welcoming culture.
What I’m Passionate About: Enabling others to find the joy and satisfaction that comes from creating your own garments. I also feel inspired to discover the work of talented designers and sewing instructors and interpret it for an appreciative audience. I believe the sentiment that significance comes from enabling others to accomplish what they did not think they were able to do.
What I Like About Working for Taunton: I am proud to work with a talented, caring team, and honored to carry on the legacy of a brand that has taught new skills and brought confidence to countless sewers over the years.
