What I Do: I develop content for Fine Homebuilding magazine and FineHomebuilding.com, and I host the weekly Fine Homebuilding Podcast and the Fine Homebuilding Pro Talk Podcast. I travel regularly for photo and video shoots as part of the content development process. I also help produce videos for the website and social media channels.
Interesting Fact About Me: My wife, Carol, also works for The Taunton Press, at Fine Gardening. We met on a Habitat for Humanity jobsite in the early 1990s. We’ve been married for 22 years now, despite our nearly endless, large-scale home-remodeling projects. Her vegetable garden and perennial beds are a source of joy for the whole family
What I’m Passionate About: It might sound obvious, but I’m passionate about home building. I’ve been around home building and remodeling since I was a pre-teen, building forts and tree houses and helping my dad and uncle with their home projects. In addition to my work at Taunton related to residential construction, I’m an avid DIYer and serial remodeler, working on my own home and helping family and friends with their home projects.
What I Like About Working for Taunton: It’s a privilege to work for such a trusted and storied brand known for high-quality products that truly serve the needs of a passionate and knowledgeable audience. I regularly hear from very smart people who listen to the podcasts, read the magazine, and visit the website. They share their experiences, write in with comments, and ask thought-provoking questions. Their interest—and some have decades of home-building experience—shows that the company continues to answer their needs despite a changing media landscape.
