What I Do: I help people to create beauty and become better gardeners. I work closely with authors and the Fine Gardening editorial team to develop raw concepts and ideas into informative, useful, and inspiring print and online content.
Interesting Fact About Me: My first job was working at a Dairy Queen. I am a master at that little curlicue on top of soft-serve ice cream cones, and I can make a mean Peanut Buster Parfait.
What I’m Passionate About: Besides gardening, I am passionate about protecting and nurturing the environment. Thankfully, my two biggest passions dovetail together—the care and feeding of one benefits the other.
“Acts of creation are ordinarily reserved for gods and poets, but humbler folk may circumvent this restriction if they know how. To plant a pine, for example, one need be neither god nor poet; one need only own a shovel.” —Aldo Leopold, A Sand County Almanac
What I Like About Working for Taunton: I once read that job satisfaction is dependent on three major components: (1) the tasks you must perform; (2) the people you must perform said tasks with; and of course, (3) the compensation you receive. If I did not have bills to pay, I would consider working for Taunton for free. It is a privilege and a joy to wake up every day and collaborate with such talented and creative coworkers and contributors to create far-reaching content that helps others to advance their passion and craft.
