(Newtown, CT – 12/20/2021) Andrew Zoellner is joining The Taunton Press as Editorial Director, Fine Homebuilding, to direct the brand content strategy and editorial vision for Fine Homebuilding and Green Building Advisor across all media platforms. In his role, Zoellner will lead the content strategy and develop product experiences that deliver exceptional customer experiences and advance innovative ways to support the housing market.
Zoellner is a maker at heart, and an enthusiast content specialist by trade. He has spent the past 12 years at a variety of familiar media brands and built his editorial career around encouraging audiences to learn how to fix up their homes and make things. From 2018 to 2021, Zoellner was Editor-in-Chief and Content Strategist for Popular Woodworking. His skills and focus on audience development accelerated during his tenure at The Family Handyman (2016-2018) where Zoellner served as Digital Content Manager. Zoellner started his career with two other brands in the woodworking and DIY home markets; he was a contributing editor at American Woodworker, and later, an Associate Editor at Handy Magazine. He also served three years as Assistant Editor and Video Specialist for American Craft Magazine.
Zoellner states, “Fine Homebuilding has been a leader in the home construction industry for more than 40 years, and that leadership is more important than ever. There is the very real housing shortage, issues around affordability and equality in housing, and the environmental impacts of building. Not to mention supply chain issues and a growing labor shortage that is magnified in the trades. The brand has a significant opportunity to drive the conversation around craft, innovation, inspiration, and helping more people build sustainable, worthwhile homes, businesses, and careers in homebuilding while tackling some of the larger problems facing our society.”
Renee Jordan, CEO, Taunton adds, “We are fortunate to have Andrew join us at this juncture in Fine Homebuilding’s journey. He has a passion for craftsmanship, he is an experienced modern media professional, and a proven track record of leading teams and growing engagement with audiences and marketers.”
Fine Homebuilding products include the magazine, the web site, Pro Talk Podcast, the weekly Fine Homebuilding podcast, the Green Building Advisor web site and community, the digital archive, numerous video workshops and webinars, plus a book publishing imprint of reference and how-to information on home construction.
