 Threads Readers Light Up the Runway Finalist sewers debut their creations at the American Sewing Expo 2004
In October 2004, Threads and the American Sewing Expo teamed up for the fifth year in a row to present the "Inspired by Threads -- A Fashion Challenge" fashion show. The show featured garments created by Threads readers using techniques and ideas that captured their fancy from six consecutive issues of the magazine -- No. 109 to No. 114. We received close to 100 entries and selected 27 finalists (for a slideshow of all the finalists' garments, see Exploring Design: Inspired by Threads Fashion Challenge 2004). The finalists' garments appeared at a fashion show held at the Expo in Novi, Michigan. Of those finalists five winners were announced at the show.
