25 Cool Sewing Supplies
Find inexpensive notions in the most unusual places
by the Threads staff

A cool tool is even cooler when it is an inexpensive discovery, and we have a lot of unusual tools and notions to share with you. Here at Threads, we are very resourceful -- we use beach rocks as pattern weights, dental tools to help steer fabric under the press foot, makeup brushes to clean the mechanisms of a sewing machine or serger, to name just a few. And there are plenty more wild and wonderfully wacky supplies tucked up the staff's well-sewn sleeves.
