The Secret to Slinky Knits
Take a cue from the runway and get a look that's super-slimming
by Pat Moriarity

Slinky knit, an acetate/lycra blend that has a luscious, heavy drape and fluid movement, has become a staple fabric for elegant and comfortable sportswear basics. Patricia Moriarty has developed creative techniques for this fabric. She shows how to use a sewing machine, serger, and fusible web to control the fabric. Further, she explains a number of attractive and easy edge techniques that take advantage of the ribbed texture and non-raveling nature of the fabric.
