ARTICLE PREVIEW
from Threads October/November 2006 (#127)

Denim Details
Why pay designer prices when you can jazz up your own jeans?
by Anna Mazur

Like most of us, Anna Mazur, author of Threads Pattern Review, lives in jeans. But, being the couture sewer and embellishment queen that she is, she loves to dress up her plain-Jane purchases for a thoroughly unique look. For this article, Anna watched the runways closely to capture the latest embellished-jeans trends. She demonstrates four fun embellishment techniques that can be added to any store-bought jeans: reverse appliqué, beading, tone-on-tone painting, and 3-D embroidery.
