Be Your Own Designer
Use your inspiration to turn your closet into a fashion collection
by Georgene Shelton

Deciding what to sew is just as important as deciding to sew, and design consultant Georgene Shelton shows readers how to "think like a designer" so they can plan an entire, coordinated wardrobe, rather than lots of separate garments that don't go together. She talks about gathering inspiration material, establishing a unifying theme or concept for the wardrobe collection, analyzing one's existing wardrobe, and outlining a personal collection based on these factors. By working this way, she argues that sewers can put their creativity and time into a group of garments that cover all their fashion needs, stylishly. Garment sewers of all levels will benefit from learning to look at the bigger picture when they plan their projects.
