Drivers' Ed for Sewing Machines
How you maneuver curves and turn corners influences your finished garments
by Judith Neukam

Threads associate editor Judith Neukam explains a variety of simple techniques for driving a sewing machine to make flawless, even seams; smooth and ripple-free curves; and perfect points (for example, on collars). Beginning and experienced sewers alike will never again have to experience identical edges going askew when run through the sewing machine, or curved edges stretching or contorting so the fabric no longer lies beautifully on the body.
