Readers' Closet

What have you been sewing? Send us photos of your latest creations -- they might appear in the next issue of Threads.

by Carol Fresia

We know you, our readers, don't just read Threads -- you spend plenty of time actually sewing. To provide you with a forum for sharing your sewing successes, we've created a new department, starting in the October/November 2005 issue (#121): Readers' Closet. Featuring projects submitted by readers (such as the tweed jacket shown here), this department is intended to inspire sewers of all levels and to remind all of us that sewing isn't just a hobby: It's a passion, a creative outlet, and an art form we should be proud of.

Fringed tweed jacket Fringe detail
A lushly fringed tweed jacket by Sue Bailey, of Denver, Colorado. Sue made this jacket as a surprise for a friend, using the friend's personal sloper to get the size just right.

We invite you to submit photos of your latest creations -- they might appear on the pages of the next issue of Threads. Print out the Entry Form and send it to the address below, along with snapshots or digital photos on CD. For photography guidelines, see Taking Great Photos of Garments. We're looking forward to seeing what you've been up to in your sewing room.
