Anna Mazur "imagined a woman in a fitted suit with a long jacket, straight skirt, and buttons everywhere, riding a bicycle"
The simple lines of the fitted jacket (modified Vogue 9181, discontinued) in cream wool gauze provide a perfect backdrop for embroidered and beaded embellishment that form a trompe l'oeil cummerbund. The cuff detail repeats these motifs as well.
Anna's picnic outfit comprises a bias-cut sundress (bodice: Vogue 9668, skirt: McCall's 8796), and a clever bolero jacket (Vogue 9852), both in linen. The print lawn by Liberty serves as a pretty trim for the jacket, while the dress is embellished with couched cording made from brown threads that were pulled from the fabric itself, and a set of assertive buttons.
