Tulle in Motion

Enjoy a twirl-through view of the tulle-embellished evening dress featured in the February/March 2003 issue of Threads

by Connie Long

Requires the QuickTime plug-in.
To make a light, airy fabric with attitude, position and sandwich a variety of colorful sewing scraps between two layers of tulle. For the embellished border on this matte jersey evening dress (Vogue 2540), I used gold cord, black bars and feathers, sequins, and snippets of light blue fabric and sheer ribbon, and added corded strands of iridescent beads for weight along the hem. This is definitely a skirt that can twirl the night away...
