DESIGN AND EMBELLISHMENT TIP
Brooching Delicate Fabrics

When you need to pin a heavy brooch to a fine fabric like silk, adapt a technique used by the British royal family when pinning the crown jewels to delicate evening clothes. Cut a piece of white felt the size of the brooch and place it underneath the fine fabric where you want to pin through. The felt supports the brooch and protects the garment from tearing.
