HAND SEWING TIP
One-Stitch Buttons

To sew the long row of buttons sometimes worn down the back of wedding dresses, many dressmakers thread a needle with three or four threads at once and then sew the buttons with one stitch and a knot in each before moving on down the row. I have found this to be a quick way to sew on any button, snap, or hook and eye, and the stitching stays even. Sew with the four threads doubled for extra strength..
