GARMENT CONSTRUCTION TIP
Smart Marks for Hem Folding

I find marking the hem foldline on either side of the fabric to be inconvenient. My tip: Don't mark the foldline, mark the "fold-to" line. Measure twice the hem allowance above the turned-under edge and mark it on the inside of a garment, then fold the turned-under edge up to it.

It’s not easy to see the hemline, so don’t mark it. Instead, mark a “fold-to” line.
