GARMENT CONSTRUCTION TIP
No-Show Pockets

Before cutting out side-seam pockets for pants or a skirt, sew a 2-inch-width of fashion fabric to a length of lining fabric. Then cut the pocket backs with the fashion fabric on the side-seam edge of the pocket pattern as shown. When the garment is worn, this pocket looks better because any gapes are less evident when the wearer sits, and the bulkiness from heavy layers doesn't show through the front.

Piece fashion fabric to lining before cutting pocket backs.
