PATTERN AND LAYOUT TIP
Play Darts

Here's an easy way to get perfectly shaped darts without marking, clipping, or thread tracing. After cutting your fabric, fold the pattern piece along the dart fold and align the fold with the straight edge of a piece of freezer paper. Trace the stitching line of the dart onto the paper, and then cut out and discard the dart.

Use the remaining shape as an iron-on template: fold your fabric, right sides together, to match the folded pattern. Align the freezer paper template, shiny side down, to correspond to the dart placement; iron gently. Then, stitch along the edge of the template to make the dart, peel off the freezer paper, and use it for a corresponding dart. Save the template for future use with the same pattern.
