CHOOSING AND USING NOTIONS TIP
Using Fusible Interfacing

The size of the adhesive dots on fusible interfacing determines how deeply the adhesive seeps into the fabric, which affects the quality of the bond and the hand of the fabric. Small dots work well on lightweight fabrics, and larger dots on heavyweight, loosely woven, and coarse fabrics.

To fuse correctly, place the adhesive side of the interfacing against the wrong side of the fabric, and cover with a damp, see-through press cloth. Set your iron at the interfacing’s recommended setting, and apply pressure for 10 to 15 seconds until the press cloth is dry. Lift (don’t slide) the iron and reposition, slightly overlapping the previous pressing. Note that for some Pellon interfacings, the fusing method differs, so follow the manufacturer’s recommendations.
