FINE WOODWORKING and THE CENTER FOR FURNITURE CRAFTSMANSHIP CALL OUT FINE WOODWORKERS UNDER 30
Entries for Juried Exhibition Due by April 1, 2011

Newtown, CT (January 17, 2011)... To encourage the growth of the next generation of woodworkers and advance the careers of those with exceptional promise, Fine Woodworking and the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship are co-producing a juried exhibition of outstanding work by young artisans called Regeneration: Fine Woodworkers Under 30. 22 items will be selected to be on view at the Center's Messler Gallery in Rockport, Maine, September 16 — November 22, 2011. Entries are due by April 1, 2011, and must be submitted digitally at www.woodschool.org/regeneration/.

According to Fine Woodworking editor, Asa Christiana, "The latest generation of woodworkers is smaller than those in the past, but no less passionate and talented. To let the world see the astounding pieces being done by young people, we have teamed up with the Center to create 'Regeneration.' But we think this show will go beyond simply bringing attention to the entrants and their work to also inspire other younger people to develop an interest in woodworking. In that way, it makes a great companion to our latest Web endeavor, StartWoodworking.com, which launches in February."

Peter Korn, executive director and founder of the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship says, "We are delighted to partner with Fine Woodworking and top-quality tool companies to encourage the growth of the next generation of fine woodworkers. Many of our students are young, talented, and fearless, and transmitting the skills and rewards of craftsmanship to them is the heart of our mission."

A blue-ribbon jury of woodworking experts will review and judge the pieces, awarding honors and prizes based on excellence of design and craftsmanship. Categories for entry are: Studio Furniture, Reproduction Furniture, Turning, and Boxes and Containers. Seven top award winners will receive major product prizes from sponsors, all exhibitors will receive a package of sponsor products, and all entries will receive a sponsor discount coupon. Award sponsors include: Powermatic, JET, Delta Porter Cable, DMT, Irwin Tools, Freud, Lie-Nielsen Toolworks, Festool, and Woodcraft.
