THE TAUNTON PRESS APPOINTS TWO NEW EDITORIAL DIRECTORS
Companies promote knowledge and project sharing among woodworking artisans

Newtown, CT (April 18, 2011)... Taunton Press, whose brands include Fine Homebuilding, Fine Cooking, Fine Gardening, Threads, Fine Woodworking, and CraftStylish, said today they have named two new Editorial Directors to oversee the company's media products. The announcement was made by Taunton's President, Sue Roman.

Anatole Burkin is promoted to Vice President, Editorial Director of Homebuilding, Woodworking, and Gardening, and will oversee content development for print and digital in those areas. Maria Taylor is promoted to Vice President, Editorial Director of Cooking and Crafts, and will oversee print and digital content development for those areas. Each will focus deeply in particular markets while taking responsibility for content development in all media.

According to Ms. Roman, "Anatole and Maria's experience and skill sets are especially suited to these new roles, as we strive to serve existing and new customers information and inspiration where they want it and how they want it. Their leadership and management skills and their knowledge of our markets and media will make them excellent Editorial Directors."

Anatole Burkin joined Fine Woodworking magazine in 1996 and worked his way up to become Editor in 2003 and Publisher in 2006. For the last 2 years he has been VP, Digital Content Director, overseeing all web content for The Taunton Press. Maria Taylor joined Taunton in 2000 as Manager, New Publication Initiatives, and since then has worked as Editor-in-Chief for Books, Publisher of Fine Cooking, and recently VP, Editorial Development Director for Books and DVDs.

The new Editorial Directors take over responsibilities formerly held by SVP & Chief Content Officer Paul Spring, who is retiring from The Taunton Press in June.
