Small Kitchen, Big Personality
An architect and a homeowner rethink the rules of good design

When architect Andre Rothblatt was asked to help a friend remodel her kitchen, he agreed, but with some trepidation. The trouble was that the owner insisted on designing the kitchen herself, breaking all of Andre's design rules in the process. The result: an inexpensive, eclectic, unfitted kitchen, best described as "French Bistro," that combines European flair and a serious cook's production workspace.
