| Opening Up a Split Level Homeowner and architect remove walls and add glass to bring light into a house by Debra Judge Silber Andy and Rose Field were unhappy with their warrenlike 1960s rambler, but restrictions protecting the nearby wetlands made it a challenge to open up. Working closely together, the homeowners and architect came up with a design that incorporates natural elements and creative use of space in a way that not only lets the rooms breathe but also ties the house more closely to its surroundings. |
