Online Exclusive:
Cordless Brad-Nailer from Porter-Cable

Mini-compressor maximizes convenience

by Tom Begnal

Using a 12-volt rechargeable battery to power a built-in mini-compressor, Porter-Cable's new brad-nailer (model BN200V12) drives 18-gauge nails from 3/4 in. to 2-in. long, eliminating the need for a power cord, air hose or fuel canister. And according to Porter-Cable, the tool can drive a 2-in. long brad nail every second.

Should the battery die out in the middle of a project, the brad nailer can run off any standard air compressor. The tool is compatible with brad nails made by Duofast, Paslode, Senco and Stanley-Bostitch.

The BN200V12 sells for about $260. For more information, contact Porter-Cable at (800) 368-1487; www.porter-cable.com.
