Smooth, powerful, and well-constructed, this 4-1/2-in. angle grinder is a superb machine. It is the only one of the eight machines we tested whose arbor nut can be removed without the use of a tool, making wheel changes a snap. Its handle has two positions, and its switch is a nonlocking paddle. This grinder features safety clutch and restart safety devices, as well as auto-stop brushes that shut down the tool when maintenance is required.
