Grading a driveway with one of these machines saves a lot of time, but much of the work is done in reverse
In this video, builder John LaTorre Jr. of Toulumne, California, demonstrates how back-dragging, with the bucket straight down, evens and spreads a load of gravel much like a rake being used in a garden. Back-dragging again, with the bucket tipped at progressively lower angles, evens the load and produces a uniform depth of material.
