If design is a nonlinear process, then Nena Donovan Levine's previous adventures prepared her perfectly. A Cornell degree in Latin led to stints at a word-processing company, a top auction house, a travel/tour company, a company that produced industrial shows, and sales. After earning an associate's degree from the New York School of Interior Design, Nena founded N Design Inc. eight years ago. She now designs and writes about design. She lives in West Hartford, Conn., with her husband, Jeffrey, a poet and teacher; and their son, Alexander.
