These plants do wonderfully in a tough spot in our Minnesota yard--no sun, between two maple trees. They need very little care. Just don't let them dry out completely (July and August can get very dry here) and remember to deadhead in the spring. The blossoms are a bit boring, probably because they are so ubiquitous in this region. To liven things up, I combine with early spring tulips, rhododendrons, and anemone. Then I have blooms through almost all of the growing season.
