The first of the coveted blue corydalises to be introduced, it produces fragrant clusters of long-spurred, azure flowers on a compact plant. 
 Noteworthy characteristics: Compact and free-flowering. It blooms in the spring, goes dormant with the onset of summer's heat, and then returns in autumn to bloom once again. 
 Care: It prefers partial shade and moderately fertile, well-drained soil.
 Propagation: Sow seed when fresh; germination may be erratic. Divide in fall.
 Problems: Downy mildew, rust, aphids, slugs, snails; spider mites indoors.
