This past spring, 9 yards of topsoil and 7 yards of oak mulch for our new garden were dumped at the end of our driveway. At that time, our wheelbarrow tire was flat, and it was going to take two weeks for the one on order to arrive. Not wanting to wait that long, I used my kids’ 4-foot-long plastic toboggan as a “sledbarrow.” Its height and size made it easy to load and unload the dirt and mulch, and the sled’s smooth, flat bottom made it easy to pull around on our bumpy terrain. The wheel finally arrived for the wheelbarrow, which still sits idly in our garage.
