Five-Spice Rub

Try this rub, along with this sesame-soy sauce on grilled flank steak.Yields about 1/2 cup.

ingredients

2 Tbs. ground coriander
4 tsp. five-spice powder
3/4 tsp. ground fennel seed
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
2-1/4 tsp. hot chile powder
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
2 Tbs. kosher salt
1 Tbs. brown sugar

how to make

In a bowl, thoroughly blend all the spices with the salt and brown sugar; set aside. Store tightly covered in a cool, dry place; the mix will last a few months.
